A legendary live sound engineer and instructor, Robert Scovill is one of the most respected and influential people in live sound.

Legendary live sound engineer, instructor and all-round great guy Robert Scovill is one of the most respected and influential people in live sound. He has accrued more than 3,000 live event mixing credits during the course of a 27-year career.

Robert has worked with and mixed most of the top names in the music world including Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, Matchbox Twenty, Prince, Rush Def Leppard, and Alice Cooper. A six-time TEC Award winner, he was named the Keynote Speaker for the 121st AES Convention.

During his last tour with Tom Petty, Robert switched from analog mixers to the new Digidesign VENUE platform, enhancing it with the recently released Serato Rane Series of TDM Plug-ins.

For engineers working in the analog domain, the Rane C4 Quad Compressor/Limiter offers the same DSP algorithms found in the Serato Rane Series, but in a rackmount package.

"I am currently using the Rane/Serato dynamic EQ on Tom (Petty)'s vocal. It is, by a thousand miles, the best thing I have ever used on his vocal. I'm able to put his vocal in places within the mix that I have only ever dreamed of. It is truly startling and breathtaking. My system engineer and I are still trying to get our heads around it."
