The Rane SR 3 Smart Digital Remote is a generic, wired, RS-485 remote control with a 31-position LED indicator, data encoder with built-in push switch and a 98 x 64 pixel LCD display with a programmable backlight.
The Rane SR 2 Smart Digital Remote is a generic, wired, RS-485 remote control with a 31-position LED indicator, and data encoder with built-in push switch.
The SR Configurator software provides a graphical user interface for configuring the hardware devices described above. Once the communication protocol is selected, the different auto levels can be turned on and off. Parameters relating to the LCD display are also adjustable, such as time out and brightness level. The bitmaps to be displayed for the individual pages on the device can also be updated.
New features added for SR 3 Remotes:
NOTE: these features are only supported by SR 3s with firmware version 2.1 or higher. Contact the Rane factory for information on firmware updates.
There have been no changes to the SR 2 functionality.
What's new in SR 3 Firmware Version 2.1:
Firmware version now displayed on initial power up. Version can be displayed at any time by pressing and holding the encoder knob (without turning) for several seconds
New Auto Modes:
Auto Title Page mode allows remote to revert to Page 0 after timeout (to display company logo or instructions, for example).
Bump mode, with Update Timer allows previewing of Pages.
Update on Release option for Knob Push & Turn mode allows previewing of Pages.
This zipped download does not contain the following items, which are only available on the CD-ROM which ships with the SR Remotes:
Contains default bitmaps that can be used as a starting point for creating pages to be displayed in the SR 3 device.
Contains default SR device configurations with default room dividing bitmaps loaded into the pages.
Contains the TrueType font loaded on the SR devices.
